Born: -

Saint John, New Brunswick, 1952

Education: -

BFA – 1974 -Mount Allison University, Sackville, N.B., With a Major in printmaking and a Minor in drawing.

Teaching:-

1974 – 1975 - Art teacher with the Avalon Consolidated School Board, St. John's, Newfoundland.

1975 – 1977 - Elementary teacher with Frontier College in the community of Grey River, on the Southwest coast of Newfoundland.

 Publications: (selected)

1995 - “On Earth as it is in Heaven – Gothic Revival Churches of Victorian New Brunswick”. Text by Dr. Gregg Finley / Artwork by Lynn Wigginton ( included 65 ink drawings and 58 acrylic paintings ). Published with financial assistance from the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, the Canada Council, The Canada/New Brunswick COOPERATION Agreement on Cultural Development, and the New Brunswick Dept. Of Municipalities, Culture and Housing.

2004 - “Doors of Saint John”, a poster featuring 28 paintings of doors from uptown Saint John. N.B.

2006 -“The Four Brothers”, The New Brunswick Reader, supplement to the Telegraph-Journal - article written about the four Kashetsky Brothers to coincide with an exhibit of their work at the Peter Buckland Gallery.

2012 - “Windows of Saint John”, a poster featuring 28 paintings of Saint John windows.

2017 - “Doorways of Saint John”, a poster featuring 28 paintings of Saint John doorways.

Exhibitions:

Lynn Wigginton has had a number of solo exhibitions during her career as an artist at Galleries such as Buckland Merrifield Gallery (Saint John), Ingrid Mueller (Fredericton), and Fog Forest Gallery (Sackville). She has also participated in numerous group shows:

2005 - “Atlantic Canada Fine Art Market”, Atlantic Cultural Space Conference, Saint John, N.B.

2009 – “Portraits – New Brunswick Painters”, New Brunswick Museum, curated by Peter LaRocque and Peter Buckland. Book published by Goose Lane Editions.

2012 - “Aspects of Realism”, invitational exhibit, Saint John Arts Centre.

2013 – “Designs by Hand”, an exhibit organized by the INTBAU featuring works of 25 international architects, artists and designers.

2013 – Invitational Exhibit, “150th Anniversary of the Saint John Free Public Library”.

Collections: 

Lynn Wigginton's paintings have been purchased by the New Brunswick Art Bank.

They are also part of the collections of individuals, organizations and businesses in Canada, England, the U.S.A., India, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and China.
